Safe Haven Transitional presents the Domestic Violence Charity Ride on Saturday, September 17th, 2022. Riders and passengers may click here to donate to support. 100% of proceeds raised will aid victims of domestic violence.
Former Safe Haven Transitional program participant wins modeling award!
We are excited to announce that former Safe Haven Transitional program participant, Patricia M. Goins, has recently been named winner in a modeling contest.
After successfully completing our program, Patricia went on to become an advocate against domestic violence and an avid supporter for domestic violence shelters. She has committed herself to helping victims overcome their abuse.
In addition to becoming a domestic violence advocate, she went on to become an author, radio host of “On The Move” on 1100 AM in Atlanta, a film maker and a performer.
During the contest, Patricia spoke on how Safe Haven Transitional made a difference in her life and now she is a Model of Success! In recognition of her achievement, she appears on this billboard located at 1385 Iris Dr SE in Conyers, GA.
A huge congratulations to Patricia on this well-deserved accomplishment!

National Crime Victims’ Rights Week
Join Safe Haven Transitional, Inc. to Celebrate 2018 National Crime Victims’ Rights Week
“Expand the Circle. Reach All Victims.”
The week of April 8 – 14, 2018, is National Crime Victims’ Rights Week (NCVRW). This annual observance, first designated by President Ronald Reagan in 1981, seeks to increase general public awareness of, and knowledge about the wide range of rights and services available to people who have been victimized by crime. The theme for 2018 National Crime Victims’ Rights Week is “Expand the Circle. Reach All Victims”
Safe Haven Transitional, Inc. is hosting two special events to “reach all victims” and those who support them during NCVRW:
- Thursday, April 12 at 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm
Fairview Baptist Church, 1746 Highway 138, Jonesboro, GA 30236 - Saturday, April 14 from 12 noon to 3:00 p.m.
Martha Forrest Family Life Activity Center 3430 Bouldercrest Road, Conley, GA 30288
These NCVRW events will feature community leaders leading a panel discussion about cutting-edge victim/survivor issues in our communities, including bullying, human trafficking, campus sexual assault, and domestic violence. Victim/survivor and community awareness informational resources will be available, and fun kids’ activities are planned for children.
Safe Haven Transitional has served the Atlanta Metropolitan area since 1994. Its mission is to provide a SAFE dwelling place for battered women and their children; and its programs include: Longer term shelter, Legal Advocacy, Youth Intervention Programs, Personal Crisis Counseling, Transportation, and Household Establishment Assistance. In 2017, Safe Haven Transitional received funding from the U.S. Department of Justice Office for Victims of Crime NCVRW Community Awareness Project to support victim outreach and public education during NCVRW 2018, including these two special events.
According to spokesperson, Executive Director, Mary Winfrey, “Attendees will receive tips to help prevent and protect themselves from crime, as well as inform those who are in the aftermath of crime of services and assistance that is available. Bring your friends and family. This is a great time to equip yourself with information. “Information is Knowledge” and “Knowledge Informs.” More Power, More Knowledge. Come out and be informed. You just might save a life, and that life may be your own.
